7 Steps to Buying Online like a PRO

Nowadays, more then ever we shop online. What's your strategy when buying virtually?

Why shop online?

Online shopping has its benefits! No more wait in line, it saves your time and energy… and it helps you to save you money (if you do it right). As much as it is a hassle-free experience with no queues and travelling, to make it successful and for the best outcome you need a plan.

OK… so where to start?

OK… so where to start?   The list of sites is endless... Starting from well-known clothing stores like Zara or ASOS, through general selling sites like  Amazon or eBay.

Based on my experience as a stylist and consumer, here are a few things important to remember.

One of the most effective ways to quickly find sites that are selling the product you want is to simply search for the product using a search engine like Google or Yahoo. You can use it as a starting point for comparing prices. Please see below links to my fav shops!   All right, now, when you know already where you want to buy your product, let's talk about HOW to do it most efficiently!

Some cool tips you should know

01.

Know Your body type and colour analyses

Every PRO shopper does their homework on that.   This is always my favourite topic and that is something I will never stop reminding you about. There is no real styling without understanding your body type and knowing colours with suites you best. Those are key elements of a perfect styling. Before you decide to shop do quick online research on your body type and colours.  After you do your colour analyses, no more struggles and money wasted on colours with dose not suite you. Not sure how to do it? Contact me for a complimentary styling consultation to find out more.

02.

Know Your body measurement- NOT THE SIZE!

By now, we all know that size varies depending on the brand. As with online shopping, you don’t have that luxury to try on and check the size, it is super important to analyse size chart before you buy!. This will help you to determine what you should actually be ordering. If you order on websites with multiple brands like ASOS or ZALANDO make sure you take a glance at the size chart on the designer's website. Another thing you might want to look at is the size the model is wearing. It will give you an idea about the length of the item you about to buy.

03.

Check the return policy

There is a constant temptation to add "just one more " item to your basket. It all looks so perfect on that picture, doesn't it? The risk of buying online is that you feel less guilty about spending money. The excuse I hear a lot is; " I can always return it " will you actually do that? Before you buy, make sure you have checked the delivery and return policy. I strongly advise buying only if the seller offers a free return. Do not buy large items. Buy tops, underwear, accessories. Generally, it takes more hassle to return a large item ( for example Coat or shoes). Bulky packages are likely to get left until it's too late to get your money back.

04.

Check the label

Wow! It's a bargain! This dress loos to good to be the truth? Hmm…think twice before you buy it! Most of those scenarios mean: 'you buying low quality'. Good quality clothing is not only about how you feel, it's about how your image is perceived. Many times, a low-quality material is recognized by the glance. By all means, your image will be badly affected and the last thing you want is to risk people thinking you wear cheap clothes. Last but not least, it's all about comfort, this is where everything starts, your confidence boost, positive energy and readiness to achieve what you planned for the day.

05.

Narrow down your search

You could lose days in the bottomless online shopping, hence narrowing down your search is always useful. With my experience, it only a matter of getting used to, it doesn't take much time and those days most of the good online stores have filter option adapted to be user friendly.

06.

Take your time

Set a time you want to spend on online shopping. As long as it is way more effective then physical shopping you need to give yourself a time to make that decision, otherwise, you end up buying something you do not need or like. Ask yourself this 3 simple question: 1. Is it something you REALLY need?  2. Can you wear it with OTHER clothes in your closet?  WHEN will you wear it? ( tomorrow? Next month?.. 3 years?...)

07.

Try it on!

This is the most exciting part… but do not get too excited, don’t cut off the tag until you are 101% sure you love it. Pull out all the possible combinations you are envisioning you will wear with your new item. Make sure you can put the outfits quickly and smoothly.

Last but not least…ENJOY! YOU DESERVE IT!

…And remember, You are beautiful!

The right colours enhance natural beauty, learn how to enhance Yours!

your PERSONAL COLOUR ANALYSIS

Personal colour analysis is a term widely used in the cosmetics and fashion industry.

This is a method of determining the colours that harmonize with your skin complexion, eye and hair colour. The right colours enhance the natural beauty making you appear healthy and fresh-faced.

About
BASICS

Another, a more practical benefit is: the successful application of a colour analysis will allow you to coordinate your clothing and accessories with greater ease and avoid costly mistakes by purchasing items that don’t suit you. On the flip side, colour analysis demonstrates how certain shades can be unflattering by giving the optical illusion of face being more tired. Last but not least placing a “wrong” colour next to your face will draw attention to such flows as wrinkles or uneven skin tone. Nobody wants that!

So what exactly do I need to know about this colour analysis?

Would you like to get a personalised colour palette prepered by Fashion Stylist?

The theory is wild and intense.. but I will share with you only a crucial basic.

The main rule is simple, if you have cool undertones you should wear cool colours if you have warm undertones you should wear warm colours. Before determining what works for you best, let’s explore a difference.

Warm colours:
Those are the colours with yellow basis. Vivid or bold in nature. Typical examples of warm colour are red, yellow, orange. They tend to make you think of warm things such as sunlight’s or holidays and feel cosier, energised and happier. Warm colours contrast with cool colours.

Cool colours:

Those are the colours with blueish basis. Darker and less intense in nature then warm colours. A typical example of cool colours is blue, green and light purple. Those remind you of water, beach or sky. Cool colours can calm you down and feel more relaxed.

"

warm v cool

Remember about those simple characteristics when preparing for an important day.
If you attend an event or work meeting as a speaker, be careful with warm colours as they might make your audience eyes tire, chose more neutral colours. On the flip side, If you want to look like someone with bright ideas, chose a warm colour.
As with everything, there are always exceptions. It all depends on your natural colours and personality type.

Let’s not forgot about that important aspect. You don’t like that colour even if it works perfectly for you? That’s totally fine! Chose a different colour but make sure to use your colour palette

Finally, the main question to ask your self is: Should I generally wear cool or warm colours?

It could not be any easier! Take a 3-minute survey to find out.

*Just a note
This is not a pass or fail the test. I created a scoring system to make it easier for you to define your own colours. Simply, more point you have warmer colours belongs to you.

Let me know if you have any questions.

You will learn how to build and style a wardrobe that you love to wear and is a perfect representation of who you are.

In my experience, most women have a wardrobe full of clothes, yet claim they have nothing to wear! I am going to share with you tips to help you to change that. By creating a streamlined wardrobe, you give yourself a priceless award: feeling excellent no matter the occasion.

Building your perfect wardrobe takes time, more importantly, make sure you are prepared for that ( a glass of wine or an excellent relaxing tea could help).

It seems like there is a lot of content on that topic; therefore I will try to keep it short and useful. I am delighted to share with you my advice on how to plan your closet effectively, so it represents your personality and supports a busy lifestyle. Would you like to see reviews I did with my clients? Check it out.

You Do Not need this! Make some room in your wardrobe for better, less stressed  mornings.

1. Clothes you do not use

Instantly, get read of things you haven’t used for more than one year. There is a reason they don’t make you happy, don’t force it, let it go.

2. Bad quality

Quality is key! There are no excuses if something has visible damage or a deficient quality you do not need this. Your clothes represent you! The highest standards are in order.

3. Too small/Too big

Most of the women have the same dilemma, do not make the most common mistake of keeping things with are too small or too big. Doing so brings you down and demotivate you to make a change you always wanted.

Still not ready to throw them away? It’s ok, find an empty box an store them there. The most importantly get them of your way to clear the space for clothes you really need.

Planning is essensial in every aspect of your life, espeecialy your image!

1. Occasional clothes

Have a separate box for occasional garments. Yes, I do understand you still in love in the dress you both for your engagement party but how often do you really wear it? By packing it to a separate box, you not only make your wardrobe a favour but that dress will then you too. Keep it wrapped in a foil so it will keep its original colour for longer.

2. Seasonal clothes

What is the point to keep a 10 summer dressed in your main wardrobe if Spring hasn’t started yet? Do an annual review. Keep in your daily wardrobe clothes which are suitable for the season.

Feels like it a bit to much to do? Is there anything I can help you with? Check a “closet review with stylist” process and price.

Every wardrobe has a MUST have items, how about yours?

1. Capsule wardrobe- pick your top 10!

A capsule wardrobe is key. Find your top 10 items and have them ready for action. Those are the things you love. FULL STOP! They represent you and your style, keep them.

Analise your body type and colours ( this is a bit more time consuming) More than happy to help with that, just IM for more details.

2. Review every item separately

Review every single thing in your closet and categories it as keepers, ditchers, need fixing or charity.

4. Create a shopping list

Set aside clothes and create a MUST HAVE list for the second step with is – shopping.

5. Make lots of pictures

Make a selfie! Lots of them! in order to see how you look in the outfit and to use them as a guide for everyday dressing( it save time).

Follow up, this is only a begining..

To keep your wardrobe current and appropriate for you and your life, an annual wardrobe review and shopping trip are advised.

Be up to date with current trends and fashion. That will help you to work on your style as this is a never-ending journey. More you invest time ( not money)  it better you became. Here are some tips from me how to ” Find your Style”.

Enjoy, have fun and let me know how was it!

Have a great day

7 tips to Find your style!

7 Steps to find your style

By JUSTYNA VOP

A first question to ask before we start  this subject is:

What STYLE actually is? The best way to answer that is to explain a difference between style and trend.

Style is your interpretation of ‘’looking good’’ and ‘’feeling good’’.

The trend is the way of dressing recommended by designers and mass media.

So with that distinction, you might wonder why is it so important to have your style?

Why would I not make that easy for me and just follow what designers say or what famous people are doing?

Let me tell you why…

Style is an ‘’image language’’ you create to speak to the word about who you are! …

Style represents your personality…

Style tells your story without you having to say a single word…

The style gives you instant confidence…

And last but not least… STYLE describes the real, unique you!

That’s what we all want… whether we admit it or not … we don’t want to be a copy, we want to be original.

Create your unique cover for the book called: You!

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself ” Coco Chanel

1. Accept yourself…

Sound simple? I wish it was. According to research, only 5% of women across the Globe accept themselves for how they look, … rest:95% does not consider themselves perfect…

But what does it mean to be perfect? This is a very subjective term; do not give yourself a headache over that! Accept yourself for who you are! Because you are one in a kind. I know what you are going to say in response to that… But there are so many things I don’t like about my body… guess what? You are not the only one who thinks that way!… Most of us feel the same, but like it or not you MUST accept your body to move on with a better and more confident YOU!

YES, I agree there might be part of your body you do not like, but if this makes it a bit easier… most of us feel the same at some point, so my answer to that is: focus on your attitudes! There are lots of them!! This will give you confidence, and by highlighting what is “nice” about your body you and other people will not even notice the areas you less happy about.

2. Find your inspiration

What inspires you? Some of us has been looking for the answer since childhood.

The little things define what really inspires you. Some of us love natural colours; others will say they are boring and that’s ok too.

I have a little exercise for you. Open google search and search for “style icons.”

Make sure that you are looking at the IMAGES menu. From the images you see, save the first image you like on your phone. Take a look at the first styling that meets your eyes.

Don’t concentrate on the model; just look at the styling she has and pick one.

After you do that, open that picture on the full screen and analyse it. Why did you decide to pick that one? What is so unique about it? Is it colour, fabric, design or maybe a model you like? Once you’ve done the first analysis, do the search again. This time pick 4 to 6 pictures. Make sure you don’t select more than 8 as the human eye can analyse best when there are 7 choices or less. If there is more than that, you will just confuse yourself and most likely not choose any style.

Once you have your pictures selected, do the analysis again. Why did you choose them > what do they have in common?

Next time you review your wardrobe or go shopping, remember what inspires you.

3.Know your attitudes

If I ask you to list things you do not like about yourself most likely you will have a ready answer .However, if I invite you to list things you do like about yourself …. It will take you longer to answer. That is the common scenario I come across when doing personal styling. You might wonder why I would ask that question? Simply because this is the key for all styling preparation. There is no limit. To your style, the only limitation is you. How you define yourself and how you see yourself makes the most of it. The idea of having your own style is to make you feel comfortable in what you are wearing. You might have a perfect body for a pencil dress, but what if you hate wearing a pencil dress? I can make you put it on ;), but this will lose the whole sense of having one’s own style.

Style is simply:

Perfect fit + your personality type = You!

4.Knowing what you have in your wardrobe

We talked about some spiritual preparation; let’s talk about actions now!

Knowing what you have is essential to get what you want. Simple, isn’t it? That is why you have to review your wardrobe and get rid of things that do not suit or are out of fashion. It is not easy, I know! But is crucial for your success. It is like with everything in life, change is hard but is necessary if you want to achieve something. In that case, I am talking about improving your confidence, feeling better and happier in your skin, saving time and money… How does it sound?

Here are some tips from me on how to review your wardrobe effectively:

1.       Define your shape, know what you are working with

2. Review your clothes by category, not by outfits ( ex. Skirts separate from t-shirt, not together)

3. Try it on in front of the mirror

4. Get rid of clothes with don’t fit you ( do not hide them, throw them away)

5. Review your wardrobe every season (do not keep winter jacket if it’s a middle of the summer)

6. Make a shopping list

7. Be consistent

closet-clothes-clothes-hanger-1148960

5. Plan it! Prepare the day before…( selfie would help  )

Every success comes with a good plan. The same applies to your daily routine. If there is any event, important meeting you want to look confident and amazing at, a bit of planning is essential. What do I mean by that?  The worst you can do is to throw on your first available dress from your wardrobe. What you should do instead is to plan the day before what to wear. No time for that?

Not to worry! with a bit of technology usage, it will not take you longer than a few minutes.

Here is the plan:

Try on 2 up to 3 outfits and make a selfie.

Share the look proposal ( picture) with your friend, or someone whom opinion’s you trust. They will help you to make that choice. In the meantime make sure you have some tea and have some deserved rest.

Don’t like the idea of sharing it with others? Look at the picture after some time and decide. The picture gives you a better reflection than the mirror. Additionally, if that’s a family party or event with a camera you know straight away how will you present. Surprisingly some colours or outfits looks terrible on the picture even if they look amazing on you. Check it out too!

6.Have a statement look

Some people are afraid of having a statement look. They think that people might find that boring or predictable.

In fact, having your own unique look makes other people trust you more because they know what to expect from you.

More than that, you practising with the same or similar set of clothes over and over makes you a perfectionist. The key is

to make sure that style you chose is the right one!

7.  Be trendy!( in your own way )

Being trendy is easy. Being stylish and trendy not so much. What we see at the shop display is what has been decided by the biggest designers and brands as ”trendy”.

Have they considered different body shapes, personalities, lifestyles in all the trends they recommend? Not necessarily. That’s why if you fully follow existing trends you risk being a copy of someone you are not. It does not reflect the real you and because of that, it limits your confidence and the chance to look and feel good.

How to make trends to work for you? Make a judgement! you know best what colours, materials and looks you like. If animal print is a top trend and you hate it, would you buy it just for the sake of being trendy? NO. But you do want to be trendy right? Check what are the other trends, usually, there is a minimum of 5 so chose the one which reflects you and your personality.

Don’t want to spend too much money on the trend? Invest in accessories. I am not a big fan of leopard print but it was a must-have for 2018. I bought a little animal print bag. That way I could wear my style every day and add a bit of trend statement to my look. If I wear leopard trend from top to bottom I would be trendy, wearing just a bag added to my favourite look is being trendy- stylish.
